Job Description

Pediatric Home Service is looking for skilled and compassionate Nurse Supervisor to help lead our team! This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of client care which includes clinical support, consultation and educational enrichment for staff, clients and families while supporting all caregivers to ensure their professional success in the homecare setting.

  • Location: Omaha, NE
  • Title: RN Supervisor
  • Schedule: Full Time
  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
  • License Requirements: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in good standing with applicable state board of nursing

THE POSITION:

  • Supervises and evaluates direct patient caregivers.
  • Assesses learning needs and competencies of direct patient caregivers and provides education as needed.
  • Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation and training programs.
  • Practices and promotes professional development of staff, peers, and self.
  • Provides a challenging and fulfilling work environment by empowering staff to deliver a high level of customer service.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts including sourcing, interviewing, orientation, and training as directed by the Branch Administrator.
  • Completes initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments, including OASIS assessments, at appropriate time points and as directed.
  • Initiates and revises the Plan of Care as needed, including appropriate preventative and rehabilitative nursing care and procedures.
  • Initiates and participates in care planning and coordination for clients, including admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
  • Monitors and evaluates client outcomes to ensure effective and efficient services for staff, clients, and families.
  • Serves as a communication liaison and care coordinator between staff, clients, physicians, and families.
  • Provides updates regarding changes in client condition or care needs.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement and management programs, including implementation of corrective action plans and interventions.
  • Maintains relationships with Case Managers, Hospital staff, Physicians, Families, and Clients to promote awareness of company services and increase referrals.
  • Occasionally attends client shifts to assess situations, provide specialized care, problem solve, and improve nurse/client/family relationships.
  • Participates in after-hours phone support rotation for staff and clients.
  • Completes and maintains clinical/progress notes, documentation, files, and records as required.
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope of licensure as requested or needed.
  • Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the “What Else Can I Do?” customer service philosophy in daily interactions and performance.
  • Demonstrates understanding, support, and promotion of the company’s mission and philosophy.
  • Practices and promotes positive relationships and communication with co-workers, branch offices, and corporate offices.
  • Reports and responds appropriately to complaints and incidents according to company policy.
  • Understands, acknowledges, and follows all company policies and procedures relevant to the position and scope of work.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance in the office.
  • Carries out assignments, directives, and additional duties as directed by Supervisor or Management Team.

EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICIATIONS:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in good standing with Nebraska state board of nursing.
  • Two years of experience working as a registered nurse including pediatric experience preferred.
