Position Summary

The Stroke Coordinator manages clinical care, quality data, and regulatory compliance for the hospital stroke programs. Will act as a liaison, lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop protocols, track outcomes, and drive continuous quality improvement for faster diagnosis, treatment, and better patient recovery. Will work with physicians, nurses, and leadership to improve workflows, guide treatment protocols, and ensure timely care for acute events.

Performs duties as a staff registered nurse responsible for safe and appropriate patient care, for providing instruction, direction and supervision to subordinate unit staff, and serving as a resource for all department staff.

Work requires knowledge of the nursing process, patient assessment and nursing standards, knowledge of the California Nursing Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, intermediate pharmaceutical and math skills and knowledge of management and assignment personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Requires Current California Registered Nurse license.

Current American Heart Association BCLS certification.

Current American Heart Association ACLS certification.

Current American Heart Association PALS (or ENPC) certification

Current NIHSS Certification

Prefer TNCC or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) National Certification.

Minimum 2 to 5 years in acute care, emergency or intensive care setting, with prior stroke care or quality improvement experience. Must possess good verbal and written English communication skills, time management and prioritizing skills.

Computer knowledge and experience preferred. Peripheral IV experience and skills required.
