About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center Located in vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is known for its cutting-edge care and specialty programs, including cancer care, neurology, kidney transplantation, and more.

About Kern Critical Care Unit (Kern ICU): As Oregon’s first ICU, Kern ICU is a 28-bed unit providing care to high-risk patients with conditions like respiratory failure, renal failure, and complex surgical needs. Recognized with three national awards for unit design, Kern ICU offers a supportive environment and specializes in renal transplants, cardiogenic shock, strokes, and organ procurement.

Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN) You will provide top-notch patient care in a collaborative environment, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compassion. Work with interdisciplinary teams to create comprehensive care plans and make a lasting impact on patients' health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, compassionate patient care while adhering to Legacy Health’s high standards for patient assessment, care delivery, and transfer.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
  • Advocate for patients by offering education and emotional support, helping them navigate their health journeys.
  • Leverage cutting-edge electronic health systems to accurately document patient information and provide seamless care.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
  • BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
  • For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Experience:

  • At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
  • One year of ICU experience required.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities — because in this role, every day is different, and your expertise will make all the difference.

Licensure

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Pay Range

USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr.
