The Resource Nurse in a long-term care setting provides clinical leadership, education, and hands-on support to nursing staff to ensure safe, compliant, and resident-centered care. This role functions as a clinical expert and mentor, supporting quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and consistency of care across shifts.
The Resource Nurse will support staff across our three skilled nursing/long term care facilities based in Everett.
Schedule: Days generally Monday to Friday but with flexibility for the needs of the facilities
Pay Range: $125,000 - 140,000 per annum DOE

Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Support
- Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and CNAs regarding assessments, care planning, and interventions
- Assist with complex residents, condition changes, wound care, falls, and infection management
- Support admissions, re-admissions, and discharges, ensuring accurate assessments and documentation
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Promote compliance with CMS, state regulations, and survey readiness
- Assist with audits (e.g., chart reviews, MDS support, quality measures)
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to falls, pressure injuries, rehospitalizations, and infection control
Staff Education & Mentorship
- Provide real-time coaching, skills validation, and education to nursing staff
- Support orientation and ongoing competency development for nurses and CNAs
- Reinforce facility policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices
Documentation & Systems Support
- Support accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (e.g., PCC)
- Assist staff with care plans, progress notes, and compliance documentation
- Identify documentation gaps and provide corrective guidance
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Collaborate with providers, therapy, social services, and leadership
- Serve as a liaison between frontline staff and Director of Operations
- Support care conferences and interdisciplinary communication
Operational & Staffing Support
- Provide hands-on nursing coverage as needed
- Support staffing needs during high census or acuity periods
- Assist leadership with clinical problem-solving and workflow improvements

Qualifications

Qualifications
Required
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2–3 years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and survey processes
- Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills
- Experience quality measures
- Prior leadership or educator experience
- EMR experience (PCC preferred)
