What You Will Do

The RN Manager for the Wound Care Department provides clinical and administrative leadership for wound care services across the organization. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring evidence-based wound care practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, and leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The RN Manager must hold current Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) certification and demonstrate advanced expertise in wound management.

1. Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for wound care nursing staff and support personnel.2. Develop staffing plans, schedules, and workflows to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient operations.3. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the wound care team.4. Participate in recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of wound care staff.5. Ensure delivery of evidence-based wound care in accordance with professional standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.6. Serve as a clinical expert and resource for complex wound cases, consultations, and care planning.7. Monitor patient outcomes, quality indicators, and clinical documentation related to wound care services.8. Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care coordination related to wound management.9. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards.10. Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on wound healing outcomes, pressure injury prevention, and patient safety.11. Review incident reports, conduct root cause analyses related to wound care, and implement corrective actions as needed.12. Develop, implement, and evaluate wound care programs, protocols, and clinical pathways.13. Provide education and ongoing competency validation for nursing staff and interdisciplinary partners related to wound care best practices.14. Serve as a subject matter expert for organizational initiatives related to skin integrity and wound prevention.15. Assist with budget development, expense monitoring, and supply utilization related to wound care services.16. Evaluate and standardize wound care products and equipment in collaboration with supply chain and clinical leadership.17. Prepare reports and presentations related to department performance, quality metrics, and operational outcomes.18. Practice the ability to supervise and operate Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).

What You Will Need

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
  • Current Wound Care Certification (WCC) or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing certification (WOCN) required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Wound Care Certification (WCC) or Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification (WOCN) required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical wound care experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting required.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards related to wound care.
