The new center has 22 infusion bays, three multidisciplinary spaces and a hematology and oncology clinic with 17 exam rooms. The Dickson City facility will also provide radiation oncology — a first for Geisinger in Lackawanna County — a pharmacy, laboratory services and palliative medicine. This site also offers a variety of patient amenities including food services and a coffee bar, a specialty boutique and a courtyard with lush gardens and natural views.
Job Duties:
The RN Coordinator Cancer Care serves in an expanded role to assess patient needs, plan and provide nursing care and coordinate follow-up care for patients receiving treatment in an outpatient Hematology/Oncology setting. Primarily responsible for care navigation throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include patient education, triage and care coordination.
This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly; 8-hour shift, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
A minimum of 2 years RN work experience is required;Previous Hematology/Oncology experience is preferred.
This position must maintain competency in Chemotherapy and Biotherapy administration as demonstrated by completing and maintaining The ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification. Work towards OCN certification once required hours are completed, to further demonstrate competency in this specialized field of nursing.
