TheProgressive Care Unit (PCU) at Tradition Hospital is a specialized area within the hospital that provides care for patients who are too ill for a regular hospital floor but not sick enough for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)As an RNon this team, you will specialize in intermediate-level care, monitoring acutely ill patients, and providing specialized treatments and emotional support to help patients recover from illness or injury, all while fostering strong connections with patients and familiesIn this role, you can make a difference in the lives of patients and families every dayon top ofenhancing your nursing skills through extensive hands-on experience, nursing committees and advanced education opportunities.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
PCU experience
