Partof Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital’s Perioperative Services, ourPre- andPost-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)is dedicated topatients undergoing or recovering from anesthesia.As an RN on this team, you willassistwith various care activities, both pre- and post-procedures,and interact with patients of all ages and health conditions. In this role, you can make a difference in the lives of patients and families every day, all while enhancing your nursing skills through extensive hands-on experienceAdditionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering your education, committee participation and online/in-person courses.
A caregiver in this position worksdays from8:00AM – 8:30PM or6:00AM – 6:30PM, with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
One to two years of critical care and/or Emergency Department experience
