Catholic Health’s St Catherine of Siena Nursing & Rehabilitation have served the residents of the Smithtown area for more than 50 years. St. Catherine is located in the heart of Long Island, Smithtown. The Long Term care facility is a 240 bed facility. Job Details

Participates in a patient-focused team approach of providing direct and collaborative health care to promote and restore optimal health. Utilizes all components of the nursing process in providing care that reflects an understanding of individual cultural and religious diversities and needs, and recognition of patient rights. Utilizes knowledge and expertise in providing comprehensive, coordinated, seamless care to individuals and aggregate groups. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of residents within the skilled nursing setting. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the residents between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by CNAs, LPNs/LVNs and supportive staff members. Participates in resident and family teaching. Maintains role as resident advocate with a focus on the facility's mission.

Education: Successful completion of RN curriculum from an accredited school. Bachelor's degree preferred

Licensure/Certification: Licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Skills, Knowledge or Abilities: Demonstrate leadership ability in nursing practice in.

Ability to operate all equipment found in care center. Ability to access and navigate clinical computer systems. Demonstrates superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a tactful, diplomatic way. Maintains information with strict confidentiality. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Position requires standing on feet for long periods of time interspersed with sitting at desk to complete paperwork. Ability to bend, stretch, reach, handle/finger delicate objects. Must be able to lift and position patients. Excellent verbal and auditory skills required for communicating clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, families, care team members, other hospital departments. Manual dexterity required to operate medical equipment. Near visual acuity required for preparing and reading reports/papers. Ability to cope with physical and emotional stress.

Salary Range

USD $52.17 - USD $52.17 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
