Position Purpose
The Nurse Manager, Outpatient Oncology is responsible for providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for Saint Francis Hospital’s outpatient oncology services in Hartford, Connecticut. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered cancer care by leading nursing practice, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and maintaining excellence in clinical outcomes, patient experience, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager oversees daily operations, staffing, financial performance, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development of nursing staff while promoting a culture of compassion, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning. Through effective leadership and engagement, this position supports Saint Francis Hospital’s mission of providing exceptional healthcare and advancing the well-being of oncology patients and their families across the continuum of care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily clinical and operational workflows within the oncology practice
Hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory standards
Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll, and supply budgets
Drive quality improvement, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
Serve as a visible, working leader, supporting staff and patients directly
Leadership Expectations

Qualifications
Active RN license
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
BSN required
3+ years of RN experience
Prior practice management or leadership experience
Oncology or ambulatory care experience preferred
