Shift: 07:00 - 19:30, Monday to Friday, 4 Days/10 Hours, 36 Hours per week

Note: Non-local candidates only. Candidate must reside at least 60 miles from the facility.

We are seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a contract position in Des Moines, Iowa. The Med/Surg RN will provide direct patient care to adult patients across a range of medical and post-surgical conditions, working within a resource pool model that may require flexibility across multiple units. Day shift availability and non-local status required.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the care team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe patient transitions

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Iowa or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Experience with electronic health records required
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility — local candidates will not be considered
