Job Objective:
Provides expertise and support in the development and implementation of clinical applications at Eisenhower Medical Center (EMC). Provides guidelines and updates in appropriate use of new technologies. Evaluates that technical and quality standards are met within the systems. Evaluates that solutions are cost effective and meet the informational needs of the client. Consults with other information systems staff and representatives from EMC departments. Provides assistance and support to the RN Program Manager, Informatics. Coordinates special system projects in support of organizational initiatives and strategic goals. Assists in the development, design and implementation of information technology to improve quality of care. Applies the understanding of existing workflows and serves as a bridge between clinical operations and information systems to implement evidence-based practices which improve patient outcomes, regulatory compliance and information transparency. Acts as a professional resource and role model and maintains standards of conduct and ethics in support of the mission and values of Eisenhower Medical Center.
Education:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing
Preferred: Master's degree in Health Informatics or Informatics
Licensure/Certification:
Required: California Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Preferred: Certification in Epic Clinical Informatics
Experience:
Required: Four (4) years of RN experience with one (1) year of nursing informatics experience
Preferred: Acute care, ambulatory or outpatient experience

Essential Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Manages and coordinates assigned projects/tasks with minimal direction/assistance from the Director of Informatics
3. Maintains current and regular communication with Director Nursing Informatics and project team members to facilitate timely and accurate project execution.
4. Maintains a working knowledge of the project to assist Director Nursing Informatics with client, project team, management and faculty communications and facility project movement; and to serve as project point person on assigned projects.
5. Works closely with user groups and Informatics team to maintain understanding of issues and needs as they pertain to the project.
6. Participate in planning and coordinating project activities with the Informatics/Project team members
7. Obtains and maintains records of content experts, faculty, planning committee members and information resources to facilitate current, timely and accurate communications
8. Participates in major process decisions made by implementation teams.
9. Participates in the development of basic milestones/project timelines for assigned projects/tasks.
10. Identifies problems and, if unable to solve, brings to attention of the Director of Informatics
11. Maintains client communications as assigned.
12. Tracks, prioritizes, escalates and resolves project issues in a timely manner.
13. Distributes minutes and other relevant communication regarding project activities.
14. Regular communication and coordination with Director of Informatics and Informatics team.
15. Works necessary hours and adjusts work schedule as necessary to meet client requirements.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
