As a registered nurse (RN), you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and to demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other. As part of the health care team, RNs assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and the provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. Duties include continuous assessment and monitoring of airway patency, respiratory and cardiovascular status, level of consciousness, pain, and surgical sites. The PACU RN collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient recovery, readiness for discharge or transfer, and effective patient and family education regarding post‑operative expectations and care.
