Job Description

The RN House Supervisor serves as a vital leader, providing overall clinical and operational oversight during weekend daytime hours. This role ensures seamless patient flow, expedites patient placement, and maintains high standards of quality and safety in the absence of administrative and management staff. The RN House Supervisor acts as a clinical resource, consults on emergency and complex situations, and collaborates with departments to resolve issues promptly. This position is integral to maintaining hospital operations and ensuring an exceptional patient experience during weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, management, and oversight of clinical operations during weekend shifts.
  • Facilitate patient flow and expedite patient placement across departments.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and point of contact for staff, patients, and families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to resolve operational issues and patient concerns.
  • Consult on emergency or unusual circumstances and implement appropriate actions.
  • Follow up on problems or concerns with the relevant department or administrative personnel to ensure resolution.
  • Support a culture of safety, quality, and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) required or relevant experience. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Clinical Specialty Professional Certification preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
