The House Supervisor is a key clinical and operational leader responsible for coordinating hospital activities across all departments during assigned shifts, under the direction of the Director of Nursing. This role ensures smooth hospital operations by providing oversight, guidance, and support to staff while maintaining continuity of care and operational effectiveness.
The House Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for administrative issues after hours, communicates with the Administrator on Call (AOC) regarding significant events, and facilitates effective interdepartmental collaboration. Acting as a resource in complex clinical situations, the Supervisor supports safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for diverse patient populations. This position plays a vital role in upholding the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The House Supervisor promotes a positive work environment, advocates for patients and staff, and ensures alignment with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

Education Background and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education:
RN
Required Licensure / Certifications:
Current State Registered Nurse Licensure, BLS
Required Experience:
BSN or a minimum of 2 years as a Charge Nurse or leadership experience and demonstrated leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred, Certifications in ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP preferred

Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation in increments increases annually.

NHHS employs six primary care physicians, four emergency room physicians, one hospitalist, six health care affiliates, three pharmacists, two Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and five surgeons (general, orthopedic, gynecology, podiatry). We offer complete obstetrical care including epidural anesthesia and Cesarean deliveries in a private, family setting.
Outpatient services are comprised of full-service diagnostic imaging (radiology), laboratory, pathology and licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapy. NHHS also offers short stay and same day surgical services and a fully staffed general medical acute care unit.
