Cleveland Clinic’s G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown unit and a 24-bed internal medicine unit. Patients in this unit have a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia,sepsisand complex multi-system failure. Caregivers float to both sides of the unit, so you will have one foot in medicine and 1 foot in critical care.
A caregiver in this position worksday/evening rotation7:00am—7:30pm or 7:30pm—7:00am
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing(ADN or BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor ofScienceinNursing (BSN)
