Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority,identifying,reportingand responding to incidents and providing safety resources.
A caregiver in this position worksnights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM, including rotating weekends and holidays
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administerprescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of current acute care RN or Emergency Department experience-Will consider military RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS)certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)certificationsthrough the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Crossupon hire or within one year of employment
Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC – adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC – pediatric) upon hire or within one year of employment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sofScience inNursing (BSN)
Three years of acute carenursingexperience
