Job Description

As a Registered Nurse – Educator, your in-depth knowledge and outstanding communication skills are key in fostering quality care, enhanced wellness and ongoing growth and development throughout Rochester Regional.

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to support our Labor & Delivery and Women's Care (Postpartum) teams. In this highly collaborative role, you will inspire excellence in nursing practice by leading education, onboarding, competency development, and professional growth for nurses caring for mothers and newborns across the continuum of care.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Women's Health nurse who enjoys mentoring others, driving evidence-based practice, and making a lasting impact on patient care.

JOB TITLE: RN Educator - Women's Health

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Women's Health (Labor and Delivery/Women's Care Unit)

SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Women's Health and/or OB experience preferred, but not required.

  • Master's degree in Education (or related field) preferred, but not required.

ATTRIBUTES

  • In lieu of degree, equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered

  • Minimum of three (3) years of prior training/teaching experience in related educational field

  • Kind, understanding and strong attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluation. Identify and validate the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys and course evaluation results; document the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring and assessing competencies; analyze cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources

  • Development. Create educational programs and curriculum that promote quality healthcare, employee/patient growth and personal wellness; provide leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer; develop communications and audio-visual materials that are clear and concise

  • Implementation. Facilitate programs to meet the identified learning needs of our customers; provide in-depth orientation, in-service and continuing education for staff or patients

EDUCATION:

BS: Health Education, BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
