Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

New Graduate RN Residency Program

New graduate nurses at Mercy Hospital South are supported through our comprehensive RN Residency Program, designed to help you transition from student to practicing nurse with confidence.

This 8–16 week hands-on clinical training experience provides structured support while you develop practical skills and build clinical confidence.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following:

β€’ Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

β€’ Nursing Diploma

β€’ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licensure

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state eligibility

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire

Experience

New graduates strongly encouraged to apply

Previous hospital experience helpful but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

β€’ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

β€’ Specialty certifications

β€’ Acute care or clinical experience

Physical Requirements

β€’ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

β€’ Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts

β€’ Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
