As an RN in the Cardiac CathLab,you will provide care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations (also called cardiaccathor coronary angiogram). This is an invasive imaging procedure that evaluates heart function by inserting a catheter into a blood vessel in the arm or groin and then into the coronary arteries.An RN in this role should be familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, pain modalities, and comprehensive nutritional support. You will have a direct impact on patient care and be the one to shape thepatient'sexperiencewhile being a part of an elite healthcare organization.

A caregiver in this position worksdays from 6:30AM –5:00PM, with on-call requirements.Responding to call within 30 minutes isrequired

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate,updateand revise patient care plans.

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.

  • Administerprescribed medications and treatments.

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • Assess andcoordinatepatients’ discharge needs.

  • Educate patients and their families

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing(Diploma,ADNor BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Criss

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or ALS through the American Red Crossupon hire or within one year of employment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’sofScience inNursing(BSN)

  • Electrophysiologyexperience

  • Cath Lab experience

  • Two years of critical care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
