Strongsville Family Health & Surgery Center’s Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) provides advanced outpatient surgical care for both adult and pediatric patients, allowing patients to return home shortly after their procedure without an overnight stay. In this RN role, you will provide care for patients in the pre-operative, operative, and post-operative areas. This position is based in the OR setting of the ASC and requires nurses to circulate during procedures, with opportunities to learn scrubbing responsibilities as well.
Nurses work through detailed patient checklists to ensure patients are fully prepared for surgery or procedures. In the PACU/Post-Op area, candidates must be comfortable managing critical care situations and monitoring patients throughout the recovery process.
*This position requires flexibility to travel between the Twinsburg, Lorain, Beachwood, Strongsville, and Marymount ASCs on a fair and rotational basis. Late shifts are also required on a rotating schedule, and candidates must be comfortable working these assigned shifts.*

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide clinical nursinginthe Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery ofcareand process patients through the ASC.
Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
Assume charge responsibilities, resolveproblemsand report variances.
Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
Maintain nursing competencies.
Participate in preparing staff development programs.
Identify self-learning needs, establishgoalsand evaluate attainment of goals.
Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.
Maintain confidentiality of informationregardingpatients,familiesand caregivers.
Demonstrate a positive,concernedand sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing(Diploma, ADN, BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
1year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting
OR3years as a Surgical Technician
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Crossor willing to obtain within6months of hire
If caring for a pediatric population: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor ofScienceinNursing(BSN)
Circulating/Scrubbing experience
