Job Summary: As a Snowcat Operator, you will play a critical role in creating and maintaining high-quality snow surfaces for winter sports enthusiasts.Working in a dynamic mountain environment, you will operate specialized snow grooming equipment to groom, shape, and maintain ski runs, terrain parks, and other designated areas, ensuring optimal conditions for skiing and snowboarding.

Essential Job Functions

  • Grooming of assigned runs and trails, lift ramps/terminals, and complete all snow gun moves as required by the Snowmaking Supervisor.
  • Reporting unusual conditions, trail concerns, or equipment issues to supervisor.
  • Runs the snowcat according to the company's grooming manual policies.
  • Observe carefully and adhere to all company safety, operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship in communication, respect for machinery and co-workers and quality of the product.
  • Perform pre-startup inspections as per the established equipment checklist.
  • Perform visual checks of equipment.
  • Perform shut down and post operational procedures including all required documentation regarding machine maintenance, damage to equipment or property.
  • Be prepared to assist and cooperate with all departments upon request.
  • Thorough knowledge of company and department polices and employee handbook
  • Interacts positively with guests: Provides accurate information regarding lifts, runs, area facilities/services, operating hours and current events. Handles complaints and resolves situations in a courteous manner.
  • Safely operates snowmobiles in accordance with RMR procedures

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada. You can provide your SIN documentation; Candidates requiring a work permit must provide valid work authorization.
  • Snowcat operator previous experience is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s license – A driver’s abstract check will be required prior to operating equipment
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work night shifts and sit for long periods of time.
  • Employee may be required to work extended hours including weekends and statutory holidays
  • Able to alone or with others in a team environment
  • Mechanically inclined with experience in performing light maintenance and trouble shooting.
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Self motivated, responsible and willing to learn
  • Able to work around buildings and structures in a safe manner
