Salary Range: $68,000.00 - $78,000.00 SalarySummary: The responsibilities of the Risk/Compliance Manager will be to assist Heart of Ohio Family Health’s Compliance Department in managing compliance and risk management initiatives. The manager will coordinate day-to-day compliance and risk management activities, including incident reporting, patient grievances, risk assessments, policy updates, emergency preparedness, and compliance-related training. The manager will also assist with FTCA, UDS, HRSA- Operational Site Visit (OSV) preparation, and other compliance-related activities.

Job Duties, these are considered essential to the successful performance of this position:

  • Provides ongoing assistance to employees with incident reporting, including use of the Incident Reporting Dashboard (IRD), and helps ensure incident reports are completed and submitted appropriately.
  • Uploads, organizes, and maintains incident reports in the IRD and routes reports to the appropriate staff for investigation.
  • Monitors incident reports for completeness, follow-up, trends, and escalates significant or unresolved concerns to the Director of Compliance.
  • Monitors the Patient Experience Line for patient complaints and makes outreach attempts when appropriate to obtain additional information before assigning matters for investigation.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of risk management records, incident reports, investigations, grievances, and related documentation.
  • Manages patient experience surveys via the Press Ganey Dashboard, monitors survey information for data trends and follows up when issues arise
  • Assists with healthcare risk management training, prepares or distributes educational materials, and communications related to compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborates with General Counsel to track organizational policies and procedures and initiates the update process when policies and procedures reach their review period.
  • Coordinates with policy owners to obtain updates and maintains the SharePoint policy and procedure dashboard.
  • Coordinates Emergency Preparedness initiatives across all clinic sites and tracks drills, documentation, follow-up items, and other related activities.
  • Tracks annual training completions (corresponding with FTCA compliance) within our learning management system (LMS) and sends reminders and past due correspondence to employees.
  • Assists with UDS information gathering and other compliance-related reporting activities.
  • Assists with preparation of staff and documentation for HRSA Operational Site Visits (OSV) and other compliance-related site visits.
  • Assists with Heart of Ohio Family Health’s 340B quarterly auditing and monitoring program.
  • Assists with compliance initiatives pertaining to onboarding new employees during orientation.

Facility Environment

Heart of Ohio Family Health operates in multiple locations, in Columbus, OH area. All facilities have a medical office environment with front-desk reception area, separate patient examination rooms, nursing stations, pharmacy stock room, business offices, hallways and private toilet facilities. All facilities are ADA compliant.

QualificationsJob Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Strong understanding of office procedures and protocol with an emphasis on good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques or prior training in such techniques.
  • Able to work in a high-volume, complex environment.
  • Ability to foster a positive, problem-solving approach to the work.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as to be part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, health or business management or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare compliance, risk management, or regulatory requirements preferred.
