If you want to be part of this incredible journey Grant Thornton Greece has the opportunity for you. Our Financial Services department is continuously growing, supporting clients of all different sizes across many different sectors and is currently seeking to employ a Risk & Reg FS Manager.

The key responsibilities of the Risk & Reg FS Manager will include:

  • Managing a broad range of Risk & Regulatory advisory or assurance related projects focused on the Financial Services Sector (mainly on Banking).

  • Understand client needs and translate complex regulatory requirements and business needs into actionable strategies, methodologies, policies and procedures.

  • Planning and directing projects across risk frameworks of financial and non-financial risks such as credit, market, liquidity and operational risks.

  • Support clients in risk framework assessments, risk model development and validation, business process and internal control reviews, development of ERM frameworks, designing risk appetite frameworks, regulatory compliance reviews (such as On-Site and Internal Model Investigations) or regulatory frameworks readiness assessments regarding the Risk Management functions, preparation of Risk reporting packages.

  • Support clients in the integration of ESG into risk management including climate stress testing, sustainable finance frameworks, and end-to-end ESG data strategy.

  • Reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements for capital, funding, and risk management and providing deep insights into supervisory expectations for risk appetite, stress testing, and emerging priorities on the regulatory agenda.

  • Managing teams of qualified and highly motivated professionals

  • Interacting on a regular basis with clients and delivering excellent client service.

  • Working collaboratively with other lines of service and practice areas to deliver other services

  • Maintain highest standards of business ethics

  • Participate in the departmental business development activities

For whom we’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 5 to 6 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in an advisory firm

  • Good command of the applicable regulatory frameworks including but not limited to EU Prudential Regulation (e.g. CRR and EBA Guidelines, Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting, IFRS 9 etc.)

  • Someone who holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management or other related fields. A relevant Master’s degree, a Risk management professional certification and / or a PH.D would be an asset.

  • Someone with experience in risk management across major risk types such as Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Interest Rate Risk and Liquidity Risk

  • Someone who can quantify risk methods for market risk (e.g. VaR, Expected Shortfall etc.) and /or credit risk (e.g. PD, LGD and EAD etc.)

  • Someone who is able to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment

  • Someone who is able to work in a team and respond efficiently in tight deadlines

  • Someone who is able to communicate in English and is an experienced user of MS Office

  • Programming skills such as R, Python, SAS, SPSS and SQL for the purpose of model development and validation would be an asset.
