We’re looking for people who are purpose-driven and accountable, who value inclusion and collaboration, and who are proactive in managing risk to protect our members’ long-term outcomes. In return, you’ll be part of an organisation where your work contributes to strong returns, real-world impact, and a culture that reflects the communities our members serve.

Bring your authentic and passionate self to this exceptional role #careerswithimpact

We’re looking for an experienced Risk Partner (Line 1) to join our Risk Enablement team, partnering closely with the Office of the CEO and Chief Risk Officer (CRO). This is a great opportunity to influence risk thinking and enabling confident, risk-informed decisions. You’ll play a key role in strengthening how risk is identified, discussed and managed across the business, helping uplift risk culture, improve operational resilience, and support the continued evolution of HESTA’s risk maturity.

Reporting to the Senior Partner – Risk Enablement, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the Office of the CEO, the CRO Leadership Team, and Enterprise Risk & Regulatory Engagement teams.

As a trusted risk partner, you will help embed strong first-line accountability while enabling the business to make balanced, well-informed decisions.

What You’ll Do

  • Partnering with the Office of the CEO and CRO leadership team to proactively identify, assess and manage key risks.
  • Providing practical first-line risk advice to support strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Supporting risk owners to strengthen risk identification, assessment and treatment activities.
  • Leading and supporting risk deep dives, reviews and lessons-learned exercises to build capability.
  • Working with business and control owners to enhance control design and effectiveness.
  • Facilitating risk discussions and forums with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Monitoring emerging risks and escalating insights to support proactive management.
  • Contributing to risk reporting and actionable insights that support Executive and Board decision making.
  • Helping embed risk frameworks, policies and tools into BAU business practices.

What You’ll Bring

You’re a commercially minded risk professional who enjoys partnering with the business, influencing stakeholders and translating risk concepts into practical outcomes.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in operational risk, first-line risk partnering or risk advisory roles (ideally within superannuation, financial services or a regulated environment).
  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk frameworks and the Three Lines Model.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting risk uplift initiatives and improving risk culture.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex risk issues into clear and actionable insights.
  • The credibility and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance systems such as Archer or Protect.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, finance, risk management or a related discipline.

If you’re a proactive risk professional who thrives on partnering with the business and influencing outcomes, we’d love to hear from you - apply now.
