Risk Officer & ERM Partner, Nordics & Netherlands

Location: Stockholm, Sweden

We are looking for an experienced Risk Officer to oversee our operation in Nordics and Netherlands. In addition, you will be serving as an ERM partner for corporate functions part of the organization. The role is based at our office in Stockholm and will report directly to the EMEA CRO.

AIG ERM team

The EMEA team consists of 9 risks officers working collaboratively across assigned geographies and risk areas. The team works closely with colleagues from risk specialist functions such as Economic Capital Modelling, Technology Risk, Insurance Risk, Market Risk as well as the International and Global ERM teams. Risk officers’ partner with the business functions across EMEA including underwriting, finance, actuarial, claims, operations to enable effective oversight and support sustainable business growth across EMEA and beyond.

Successful individual will operate across both the Nordic and the Netherland cluster ensuring that the operation maintain a risk management framework and governance system aligned to AIG risk policies. You will be collaborating with other ERM partners across EMEA as well as working closely with senior business leaders in the assigned clusters (Netherlands and Nordics).

Selection of responsibilities:

  • Act as a partner to the business and service units providing insight and assurance through continuously enhancing the risk management framework to make it more effective and efficient and proportional to the risks.
  • Support the management in understanding the overall risk landscape affecting the business and develop processes to ensure operations are managed optimally within the risk appetite.
  • Adapt and prioritize the ERM risk management plan by providing required input from countries and aligning with EMEA ERM.
  • Support senior management in identification and management of risk related matters including risk issues and risk events.
  • Ensure regular reporting on the risk profile to the relevant stakeholders, committees and governing bodies.
  • Support the ORSA activities as required and drive strategy and business plan risk review assessments, ensure that risk assessments and risk and control self-assessment processes are carried out and deliver high quality results for the business / functions as applicable.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of risk registers.
  • Being responsible for risk event management processes and providing training to the business stakeholders, ensuring to drive a risk culture aligned with our standards and appetite.

In addition, as an ERM partner, you will be:

  • Focusing on business strategies and opportunities related to Corporate Functions and their engagement with regional stakeholders
  • Serving as the 'go-t' point of contact for Corporate Functions in coordination with the local risk officers within each cluster;
  • Supporting ERM’s centralized resource planning and deployment to ensure service continuity to all segments.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a senior professional who has many years of experience in a similar position, preferably from the insurance or financial industry.

In short:

  • Senior track record in Risk Management, Actuarial Science or Quantitative Risk Management from the insurance or the financial industry.
  • Good understanding of European Solvency II and other relevant regulatory regimes
  • Fluent in English and another Nordic language
  • Relevant University degree
