Group Risk is a global and independent control function at SEB. Our purpose is to understand SEB’s risk profile and prevent excessive risk-taking. We identify, measure, monitor, and analyze SEB’s risks, including credit, market, liquidity, operational, IT, and insurance risks. We are looking for a Risk Officer / Senior Risk Officer (Quantitative Risk Modelling) to work with IRB credit risk models while also contributing to key CRCU (second-line) credit risk control activities
About the position
You will develop and maintain IRB credit risk models and ensure they are correctly implemented, monitored, and used in line with internal methodologies and regulatory expectations. The role combines quantitative modelling with independent risk oversight, close stakeholder collaboration, and regulatory interaction.
Develop, maintain, and enhance IRB credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD)
Apply and improve SEB’s IRB modelling methodology in line with regulatory requirements
Perform independent analysis and challenge of model performance, assumptions, and usage
Set up and perform regular model monitoring, back-testing, and analysis of deviations
Collaborate with business, IT, validation, internal audit, and regulators
Support IT implementation of models and monitoring tools
Contribute to credit risk data quality initiatives and risk reporting
Prepare material for risk governance forums and supervisory reviews
3-5+ years of experience in banking, with strong knowledge of credit risk modelling
Strong data analysis skills, high accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to present complex topics simply to various stakeholders
Understanding of regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations for IRB banks
Understanding their interplay with IFRS9 ECL modelling framework and Pillar II area is a significant advantage Goal-driven, proactive, with good cooperation skills and a strong sense of responsibility
Delivery-oriented mindset, with initiative and ability to address challenges in a high-intensity environment
A degree in a quantitative area (Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics/Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, Physics, or Economics/Finance with strong quantitative skills)
Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, and understanding of latest code versioning practices
Excellent communication skills in English
