As a Risk Management - Vice President Part Time within the Payments Client Service team, you will be responsible for leading the oversight and governance of risks and controls across Payments Client Service functions for EMEA and APAC. The role requires senior, hands-on leadership, with accountability for building a strong risk culture, driving preventive risk management, and ensuring consistent governance execution across regions. You will engage extensively with stakeholders across Client Service, Operations, Control Management, Compliance, and Legal, partnering to ensure regulatory requirements are met and that operational risk is proactively identified, managed, and remediated.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop a regional team; set clear objectives, operating rhythm, and accountability.
  • Drive performance management (goal setting, feedback, development planning, recognition, and addressing underperformance when required).
  • Build a high-performing, inclusive team culture with strong execution discipline and effective cross-regional coverage.
  • Lead the proactive identification, assessment, and management of risks across Payments Client Service for EMEA and APAC.
  • Maintain a strong preventative focus on risk management, partnering with stakeholders to reduce recurrence and strengthen control design.
  • Partner with the Global Governance lead to shape and deliver relevant content for regional monthly governance meetings.
  • Oversee the charter model and partner with the IAS team to ensure appropriate structure and coverage for Client Service.
  • Develop and maintain audit/exam materials and an evidence-ready information suite to support internal and external engagements.
  • Partner with Client Service to support root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
  • Analyze data and develop meaningful metrics, reporting, and executive-level materials for senior forums.
  • Partner closely on internal/external audits, data breach/privacy incidents, RED events/early escalations, issue & action plan closure, and data risk management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience as a people manager in a banking environment, with demonstrated success leading teams and delivering through others.
  • Strong experience interpreting and applying regulatory standards and requirements to business processes and controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple lines of business and control functions (Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and process control mindset; able to absorb complex information and form sound conclusions.
  • Proven ability to lead projects/initiatives end-to-end (prioritization, delivery tracking, escalation management, closure discipline).
  • Strong understanding of Payments products and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations and reporting.
  • Ability to work to deadlines with urgency and strong time management (planning, prioritizing, scheduling, monitoring).
  • Familiarity with data visualization / automation tools such as Tableau, Xceptor, and Alteryx.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrated experience driving change, process improvement, and automation in a controls or client service environment.
  • Experience operating across EMEA and APAC time zones and demonstrating cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Strong experience creating governance packs, control reporting, metrics, and management information for senior stakeholders.
