Job Location: Crossroads Metro Office - Crown Point, IN 46307
Position Type: Part TimePay starts at $18.00 per hour and up based on experience. This position is part-time, 10-15 hours per week.

About the Role
This is a critical role focused on protecting the organization, its people, and its operations. As a Risk Management Specialist with the YMCA, you will lead investigations into incidents, identify potential risks, and help implement strategies that promote safety, compliance, and accountability across the association. This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. You will also play a key role in training staff, supporting risk awareness, and helping maintain a safe environment for members, participants, and employees.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct investigations related to incidents, complaints, compliance concerns, and workplace issues
- Gather and analyze evidence including documentation, reports, and video footage
- Interview witnesses, staff, and stakeholders to determine facts and findings
- Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and law enforcement when needed
- Document findings and prepare detailed, accurate reports
- Recommend corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies
- Complete OSHA reporting and maintain compliance with record retention requirements
- Monitor trends, risks, and regulatory changes to improve processes
- Evaluate effectiveness of risk management practices and adjust as needed
- Support audits and compliance reviews
- Train and guide staff on risk awareness, prevention, and reporting procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards

What You Bring
- Associate degree in criminal justice, risk management, business administration, or related field preferred
- Experience conducting investigations in a corporate, nonprofit, or regulatory setting preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Knowledge of risk management practices, laws, and regulations
- Proficiency with computer systems and documentation tools
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
