Supporting Growth Through Strong Governance

As a Risk & Governance Specialist at Premier Foods, you'll play a key role in helping us maintain a well-controlled, compliant and resilient Financial Operations environment. Working across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, you'll help strengthen governance frameworks, manage key risks and support the controls that underpin business performance.

You'll work closely with operational teams, Finance, Commercial stakeholders, Internal Audit and Compliance functions, providing guidance, challenge and insight that supports effective decision-making and risk management across the business.

You'll be building relationships across the business, influencing decisions, solving problems, investigating issues and helping shape how risk and governance are managed across a growing organisation.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in ensuring Financial Operations operates with strong governance, effective controls and a proactive approach to risk management across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Working closely with operational leaders, Finance stakeholders, Internal Audit and Compliance teams, you'll help strengthen our control environment and support the delivery of sustainable business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and continuously improving governance and control frameworks across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Managing day-to-day sanctions compliance activities, ensuring screening, escalation and decision-making processes are completed in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
• Coordinating audit remediation plans, ensuring actions are clearly defined, owned and delivered on time.
• Investigating customer audit claims and contractual disputes, working with stakeholders to achieve effective resolution.
• Partnering with operational, commercial and finance teams to improve controls, reduce risk and strengthen compliance.
• Providing guidance, challenge and recommendations to support governance standards and control effectiveness.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls and enhance governance across Financial Operations.
• Supporting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and best practice.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, highly organised and confident building relationships across a business. You'll enjoy identifying risks, solving problems, influencing stakeholders and driving improvements that strengthen controls and governance.

You'll bring:

• Experience within Financial Operations, Risk, Governance, Audit, Controls or Compliance environments.
• A strong understanding of internal controls, governance frameworks and audit processes.
• Experience supporting audit activities and remediation plans.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail and a strong control mindset.
• Confidence influencing stakeholders and driving positive change.
• A proactive mindset and passion for continuous improvement.

The following would be advantageous:

• Experience within a shared services or centre of excellence environment.
• Knowledge of sanctions compliance processes and controls.
• Experience investigating customer audit claims or contractual disputes.
• SAP experience.
