Job Description

Syfe is APAC's largest and fastest-growing digital wealth platform, trusted with over US$10 billion in assets. We are fundamentally changing how hundreds of thousands of people across Asia-Pacific build wealth through a holistic approach to managing money rather than just pushing investment products. Backed by world-class investors and recognised as a leader in WealthTech, we are a team of passionate builders creating the future of wealth management.

The Right Profile

We're looking for a Risk professional to join our second line of defence (2LoD), sitting within Syfe's Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) function and supporting our risk management obligations primarily across Singapore and Hong Kong, with support to our Australia entity as required, as Syfe scales across these markets. Risk operates independently of the business it oversees, providing objective challenge and assurance across our core risk domains: third-party risk management, fraud risk, incident management, business continuity, and new product approval.

You'll work directly with the Senior Risk Manager and with cross-functional partners across Product, Client Success, Operations, and the wider LRC team. A large part of the role is turning frameworks into everyday practice: helping embed them across the organisation, running the processes that keep them live, and using AI and available tools to make those processes run reliably with less manual effort. This is a hands-on role for someone with a solid risk foundation who wants broad regional exposure and the opportunity to help shape a growing risk function.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assurance & Reporting

  • Support the review of operational and fraud incidents and the associated remediation, helping assess root cause, adequacy of response, and closure under the Senior Risk Manager's direction, and tracking actions through to completion.
  • Prepare the monthly risk report pack, gathering and assembling data across the risk domains so it is accurate, clear, and ready for management review.
  • Support third-party risk and business continuity activities, including reviews, evidence-gathering, and keeping registers and records current and complete.
  • Act as secretary for risk committee meetings, coordinating papers, minutes, and tracking of actions to closure.

Framework Adoption & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Help embed and operationalise our risk frameworks across the business, for example the New Product Approval (NPA), incident management, and third-party risk processes: coordinating reviews, keeping approvals and actions moving, and coaching stakeholders so these become part of how teams work.
  • Support the roll-out of risk frameworks through training, simple how-to material, and hands-on support to first-line teams, so requirements are understood and followed in practice, not just on paper.
  • Act as an approachable point of contact for the business on day-to-day risk queries across Singapore and Hong Kong, and Australia where required.
  • Provide day-to-day risk input and guidance to the business on request, helping teams think through risk considerations while preserving second-line independence.

Tooling & Automation

  • Help build and run lightweight tools and automations, using AI and low-code platforms, that make our risk frameworks operate reliably, from NPA reminders and escalations to report assembly and register upkeep, reducing manual effort.
  • Flag repetitive, manual steps in our risk processes so they can be simplified or automated.

General

  • Assist with ad hoc risk tasks as required by the team, while bringing an AI-first mindset to how the work gets done.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
  • 3–5 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or a related control function within financial services.
  • A sound understanding of second-line risk concepts and how a risk framework operates in practice
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills: able to hold their own with product managers and first-line leads, and to bring people along rather than simply chase them.
  • Independent and task-oriented, meticulous, with great attention to detail, and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Based on the candidate's capabilities, the role ranges from Associate to Senior Associate level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Investments and/or WealthTech, and a genuine interest in fintech.
  • Exposure to any of our core domains: third-party risk, fraud, incident management, business continuity, or new product approval.
  • A professional risk or fraud certification (for example in fraud risk management or operational risk) is a plus, though not required.
  • A track record of using AI or low-code tools to automate repetitive work, in a risk context or otherwise. We care more about a genuine habit of working this way than where you picked it up.

We believe in the power of diversity and are dedicated to creating a welcoming and innovative environment for all our employees. So we embrace and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and provide equal employment opportunities for all.
