Join us as a Risk and Controls VP, Markets Supervision & Conduct
As a Risk and Controls Vice President for Markets Supervision & Conduct, you’ll be responsible for supporting management in the identification and assessment of material risks, and in determining their position relative to agreed appetites. Working with senior stakeholders across the bank, you’ll drive the development and delivery of remedial action plans where identified risks are considered out of appetite. You’ll also lead and support the delivery of the NatWest Markets Supervisory Controls Framework for Unauthorised Trading and Conduct Risk, ensuring the timely and effective implementation or enhancement of the framework where required, while partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of the supervision framework and operating model across the business.
We’ll expect you as well to ensure that effective controls and processes are in place and that knowledge standards are upheld across teams. Acting as a First Line of Defence (1LoD) point of contact, you’ll provide guidance on controls and manage the process for business-raised risk issues and events, ensuring strong end-to-end engagement across markets and with regional and global stakeholders. Moreover, you’ll work closely with other teams and business areas to drive effective processes, reliable data quality, and accurate reporting, while supporting the business and 1LoD in applying effective risk management practices, anticipating risk impacts, and assessing emerging risks across the bank. You’ll also act as the primary contact for supervision and conduct risk matters, serving as a conduit between NatWest Markets Commercial & Institutional Risk & Controls and the business.

To succeed in this role, you must be a highly skilled leader with experience in applying risk and control management in both operational and strategic contexts. You’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills to lead the team effectively, along with the ability to negotiate with and influence stakeholders across the bank.
