Job Description

About the role – Permanent, Full time

As a Risk Advisory Manager within the Member Experience (MX) Risk and Compliance team, you will be the “Voice of Risk” and a trusted partner to the business, providing contemporary, commercially focused Line 1 risk advice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Shape and strengthen the portfolio’s risk culture and capability, building trusted relationships across the business and embedding risk and compliance into day-to-day decision-making, team activities and business capability development.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders to enable sound commercial decision-making, using your judgement and influencing skills to challenge the status quo, proactively identify risks and recommend practical actions to avoid, mitigate or accept risk within the Board’s risk appetite.
  • Lead and influence the portfolio risk profile, supporting Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), risk reporting, emerging risk identification, change-related risk assessments and strategies to mitigate key risks.
  • Provide strategic risk advice across business change, audit, assurance and remediation, working with Senior Leaders, risk owners and Line 2 advisory teams to deliver robust yet commercial risk outcomes and effective treatment plans.
  • Develop and support Risk Advisory Analysts, providing coaching, guidance and quality oversight while ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of risk and compliance activities across the portfolio.

About you:

You will have broad exposure across risk advisory, emerging risks, RCSA, business change, audit and assurance, while also developing the capability of Risk Advisory Analysts.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Experienced risk professional with 5+ years’ experience, ideally within Financial Services, and a strong understanding of risk management frameworks, tools and practices.
  • Trusted and confident stakeholder partner who can build strong relationships across diverse business areas and engage effectively with Senior Leaders and Executive stakeholders.
  • Strong risk judgement and problem-solving capability, with the ability to proactively identify emerging risks, assess their impact and recommend practical actions to avoid, mitigate or accept risk.
  • Strong communicator who can distil complex risk matters into clear, insightful reporting and recommendations that resonate with Senior Leadership and Executive audiences.
  • Strategic yet hands-on thinker who can translate risk and compliance requirements into practical business outcomes across RCSA, change, assurance, audit, issues and treatment plans.
  • Collaborative self-starter who can work autonomously, manage competing priorities and develop Risk Advisory Analysts through coaching, guidance and quality oversight.
