Stickley is looking for a Rip Saw Machine Operator to join our Manlius, NY manufacturing team.

In this role, you'll operate and set up rip saw equipment to produce accurate, high-quality components used in furniture built to last for generations. You'll work with premium hardwoods, operate industrial equipment, make quality decisions, and develop specialized manufacturing skills.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate rip saws and related equipment to produce parts to required specifications.
  • Read and follow production tickets, routings, work instructions, and part drawings.
  • Work with a variety of wood species, including Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and veneers.
  • Rip rough-cut lumber to specified widths, including random and matched-grain components.
  • Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy, visual quality, and defects.
  • Identify and remove defects to meet established quality standards.
  • Change saw blades, collars, and other equipment components as needed.
  • Perform and document required preventive maintenance.
  • Print and scan tags as needed to support production tracking.
  • Set up work safely and efficiently while minimizing setup time.
  • Communicate equipment, quality, or production issues promptly to your supervisor.
  • Move scrap materials and boxes to the appropriate grinder or disposal area.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience operating saws, woodworking machinery, or other industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Mechanical ability and comfort working with machinery.
  • Ability to read and follow production tickets, routings, work instructions, and basic part drawings.
  • Ability to work with measurements and dimensional specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to identify wood species, grain patterns, and material defects-or willingness to learn.
  • A strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, woodworking, production, or other skilled trades is valuable. We are willing to train the right person on Stickley-specific equipment and processes.
