Summary

This is a seasonal position in the Department of Recreation & Human Services involving responsibility for overseeing the various activities at the City's ice skating rinks. Supervision is received from a higher level employee in the Department. Related work is performed as required.

Examples of duties

  • Supervises and evaluates rink staff during open skate;
  • Collects rental and league fees;
  • Orders supplies and materials for rinks;
  • Assists in planning special events;
  • Maintains skates by cleaning and sharpening;
  • Teaches staff basics of ice skating;
  • Assists with building and grounds upkeep;
  • Computes daily cash reports: register, closings, and bank deposits;
  • Prepares attendance summaries and other reports as requested;
  • Assists in the recruitment and interviewing of new staff;
  • Reviews staff time cards;
  • Acts as a liaison to Youth Hockey.

Qualifications

Two seasons of paid experience with the Department of Recreation & Human Services or similar operation.
