Employees of this class collect fees from participants for rink admission and skate rental. Rink Aides also issue ice skates, monitor the rink and enforce posted rules of conduct, assist beginning skaters, and perform routine maintenance activities. This position is distinct from other general recreation positions in that the work involves specific duties at ice rinks which require the ability to skate. Positions of this class are only part-time and/or seasonal in nature. Direct supervision is received from higher level staff. Related work is performed as required.
There are no minimum educational or experience requirements. Employees must be fifteen (15) years of age or older and able to ice skate. Applicants under the age of 18 will be required to supply a work permit issued by their school district.
