Job Description

As a Rigs and Component Testing Technician, you will support the execution of vehicle and component testing programmes across McLaren Racing's Research & Technology function. Working with specialist test rigs, dynamometers and instrumentation, you will play a key role in validating component performance, reliability and compliance to support the development and operation of our Formula One cars.

What You'll Do

• Conduct validation, durability and sign-off testing of vehicle components, including brake and suspension systems.
• Install, calibrate and maintain test instrumentation, sensors and data acquisition systems to ensure accurate and reliable testing.
• Service, inspect and test metallic and composite components while supporting component sign-off and approval activities.
• Analyse test data, prepare reports and communicate findings to engineers and key stakeholders.
• Support rig, dynamometer, homologation and development testing activities both on-site and at external test facilities when required.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

• Experience within a vehicle testing, motorsport, automotive or high-performance engineering environment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic or servo-mechanical test rigs, actuator systems and associated control technologies.
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation accurately.
• Experience with instrumentation, data acquisition systems and component validation or durability testing.
• Strong IT and reporting skills, with familiarity of engineering test and analysis software considered advantageous.
