About This Opportunity 

Join a high-performing team that plays a critical role in supporting the University’s commitment to transparency, accountability and responsible information management. As the Right to Information and Privacy Manager, you will provide leadership across right to information, administrative access and privacy matters, helping to deliver practical outcomes and drive best practice across the University. This diverse role offers exposure to complex issues and opportunities to expand your expertise in a rapidly evolving field.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Lead the management of right to information and privacy requests, providing expert guidance and making informed decisions that support transparency, accountability and access to information across the University.
• Drive the ongoing development of the University’s information access and privacy frameworks, shaping best practice and delivering open, transparent and customer-focused services.
• Navigate complex and sensitive privacy matters, including privacy complaints, breach assessments, subpoenas and law enforcement requests, providing trusted advice and practical solutions.
• Champion privacy awareness and capability across the University by contributing to privacy impact assessments, delivering engaging training and developing resources that strengthen governance and information management practices.

About You  

• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in law, governance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and expertise.
• Demonstrated experience in privacy, right to information, governance or information access within a large and complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of privacy and information access principles, with experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation.
• Experience managing privacy risks, including privacy impact assessments and the implementation of practical risk mitigation strategies.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, advise and build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.
• Proven ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues, manage competing priorities, and deliver practical, risk-informed solutions using sound judgement.
