Join Our Team as a Rigging Millwright at Johnson Electric!

Location: Mississauga, ON (onsite)

Pay rate: $43.75 per hour

Vacancy Type: Existing position

As our next Rigging Millwright, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting machinery relocations, equipment installations, and plant infrastructure projects. Your expertise in rigging, heavy equipment movement, and industrial maintenance will be critical in ensuring machinery is safely moved, installed, aligned, and maintained while supporting operational efficiency and workplace safety.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Inspecting and preparing loads that need to be moved.
  • Setting, aligning, and leveling heavy equipment machinery.
  • Selecting the appropriate rigging gear.
  • Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
  • Inspecting rigging before final use.
  • Monitoring and maintaining rigging equipment.
  • Maneuvering loads using heavy equipment machinery and by hand.
  • Ensuring compliance with state and company safety procedures.
  • Communicating with the rigging and construction team.
  • Breaking down rigging equipment and conducting post-rigging inspection

What We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Multiyear mechanical engineering certificate, millwright 443A designation preferred
  • 4+ years working in a manufacturing environment
  • 4+ years working with overhead crane
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
  • Hoisting & Rigging Certificate from recognized provider
  • Forklift & Overhead crane certification
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Hoisting & Rigging Certification from a recognized provider
  • Forklift certification
  • Overhead crane certification
  • Millwright or industrial maintenance experienc
  • Experience supporting plant equipment installations and capital projects
  • Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environments
