Job Description
Audubon is currently seeking a Rigger to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Riggers will operate cranes to move heavy equipment or material around a jobsite for the need intended purpose of the job scope.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspecting and preparing material to be moved.
- Choosing the correct rigging equipment.
- Erecting mobile cranes and temporary structures.
- Setting up and operating pulleys, ropes, winches and other lifting gear.
- Adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
- Communicating with the construction team.
- Dismantling the rigging equipment.
- Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms, with bolts
- Material handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker or telephone, sets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment
Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
- Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
- Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
- Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
- Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Related trade school education is preferred.
- Five years' experience in the construction industry.
- Four year’ experience in rigging
- Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
- Construction safety practices.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate and report effectively.
- Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
- Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
- Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
