Job Description
The Rig-Up Specialist is responsible for the assembly, installation, and teardown of oilfield equipment at well sites. This role ensures that all surface equipment, piping, and support systems are properly installed, aligned, and tested prior to operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on oilfield experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in fast-paced field environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist with rig-up and rig-down of oilfield equipment including pumps, manifolds, tanks, and flowlines
- Connect and align iron, hoses, and high-pressure lines according to job specifications
- Inspect equipment before, during, and after operations to ensure proper functionality
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment safely and effectively
- Support pressure testing and leak checks on all connections and systems
- Work closely with operators, frac crews, or coil tubing teams during setup and operations
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist with minor repairs in the field
- Maintain clean and organized job sites, ensuring all equipment is properly secured
- Follow all company and client safety policies, including PPE requirements and hazard assessments
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment to and from locations
Qualifications
- 2+ years of oilfield experience (rig-up, frac, coil tubing, or flowback preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with oilfield equipment
- Experience working with high-pressure iron and flowlines preferred
- Ability to read basic job layouts or follow supervisor instructions
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions
- Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background check, drug test, MVR, fit for duty and agility.
