Job Description


Position Context:


Vehicle Drivability Development
Manager plays a key role in defining Brand DNA- Driving Experience, developing
strategies and means to ensure that vehicle meets performance expectations
under various driving scenarios & conditions. This position blends
engineering expertise, project management, and cross-functional collaboration. Also
position demands to lead a young, energetic team
and deliver quick results.

Identify Vehicle Drivability Gaps, Analyse
them, develop strategies by understanding market needs & competition, define
roadmap for workable actions and supervise the team to achieve them


·

Propose & Support in infusing latest driveability trends, predictive
functions and technologies to enhance driveability experience


·

Define and implement driveability targets
aligned with customer expectations and brand identity


·

Translate subjective feedback into measurable
engineering parameters


·

Collaborate with vehicle dynamics,
powertrain, and calibration teams to optimize vehicle response


·

Facilitate the team with required resources
for activities related to the Drivability: Definition, Benchmarking, Calibration/Tuning


·

Planning, Co-ordinating, Vehicle preparation to ensure timely completion
of all Drivability tuning activities including co-ordination with Supplier, ESPs
and Internal Powertrain and VCU teams


·

Process and analysis of data out of the testing, elaborating the test
report, including main conclusions and recommendations


·

Design & implement different drive modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport, etc.)
for VF DNA character by integrating Driveability and Dynamics together to give
a Differentiated Driving Experience


·

Evolve different methodologies to define VF DNA, characterize it and
develop validation test cases


·

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (powertrain & chassis) to
ensure coherent overall drivability


·

Perform subjective and objective testing using AVL Drive to translate
driver feedback into calibration targets


·

Manage timelines, resources, and budgets for driveability-related
development activities


·

Lead and mentor a team of engineers and managers


·

Report progress, prepare business summaries and risks to senior
management and stakeholders


·

Provide expertise feedback on root cause analysis of Driveability &
Powertrain- Hardware and software issues


Manage JIRA system,
to capture any issue detected during the development/testing.

Work together with the respective areas to
address properly the technical solution of the issues


Requirements


Education/ Professional knowledge:


·

Automobile or Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer or equivalent work
experience (8+ years) with Exposure to EV/hybrid systems (regen tuning, e-motor
torque delivery)


·

Typically more than 8 years in vehicle development, with hands-on
experience in testing, calibration/tuning


·

Worked more than 5years in Powertrain calibration


·

Capable to lead and manage a team


Skill, Experience:


·

Solid background in vehicle Systems, EV &B HEV Systems, Layout and
Functions.


·

Hands-on experience tuning accelerator pedal maps
(tip-in/tip-out, progression, torque request shaping).


·

Good knowledge on Powertrain Hardware including Software,
Geartrain design concepts, failure modes, problem solving


·

Expertise in defining and calibrating multi-mode vehicle
characters (Eco, Comfort, Sport, Off-road).


·

Correlate simulation (CAE) and physical test results,
ensuring robust calibration strategies


·

Good skills for subjective assessment of Performance Feel and
Drivability


·

Experience of working with external global testing suppliers (AVL, FEV,
Bosch, Continental)


Other requirements (if need):


·

Skilled for Problem solving, analytical thinking and presenting
result-oriented behavior.


·

International proving grounds exposure and driving permit ( desirable)


·

Valid Driving licence (LCV, SUV).


·

Proficiency in data acquisition & analysis tools


·

Assertive and presenting very good analytical skills.


·

Willingness to travel overseas when required as per business demands.


·

Good Team player and ability to work seamlessly with cross functional
teams.


Excellent oral and
written communication skills (English).
