GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversees and coordinates all clinical care outside of the clinic office visit to provide concierge customer service while ensuring that quality and patient safety expectations are met. Coordinate and communicate timely with patients, providers, and third parties on all incoming inquiries as well as following up on action items throughout the patient’s recovery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for receiving, documenting, and handling all rheumatology calls. Screen and direct calls for rheumatology. Take messages as requested and process appropriately.
- Administer rheumatology injections and train patients for self-injection medications.
- Issues prescriptions, physical therapy orders, lab orders, work restrictions, and other orders per physician instruction and assists in patient education.
- Ensure all medication requests received before 4 p.m. and all internal tasks are responded to on the same business day. If an answer cannot be obtained, the patient is notified that their question will be addressed the next business day.
- Assists making appointments, including diagnostic studies and follow ups for patients when needed.
- Queue rheumatology lab results into system through EMR interface.
- Call patients with lab results per physician instructions.
- Review Dexa screening forms and schedule Dexa scans.
- Monitor assigned voicemails and return calls same day.
- Schedule Peer-to-Peer calls when necessary.
- Obtain pre-certification on Prolia that insurance requires.
- Back up auth coverage for infusion auth.
- Assist with physician clinic needs as necessary.
- Work with physician staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided. Ensure compliance with clinic standards of quality patient care. Assist physician with treating patients as directed.
- Maintains all information in the strictest confidentiality.
- Some travel to other locations required.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Two years in rheumatology preferred.
