Consultant Physician – Rheumatologist

Our Edmonton-based specialist clinic is seeking a highly skilled Rheumatologist to join a growing multidisciplinary team. This role is integral to our clinic's commitment to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care for patients with rheumatic and autoimmune diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical care as a Rheumatologist, ensuring timely assessment, diagnosis, and management of inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, osteoporosis, and other musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including the initiation and monitoring of disease-modifying therapies and biologic medications where appropriate
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Participate in case discussions, referrals, and inter-specialty consultations as required
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and uphold professional standards of practice
  • Maintain accurate patient records and comply with all applicable regulatory, professional, and ethical standards

Qualifications

  • Medical degree and completion of specialty training in Rheumatology
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta
  • Fellowship certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) or equivalent specialist qualifications
  • Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative multidisciplinary practice

Position Details

  • Full-time Rheumatologist position, typically 4 to 5 clinic days per week
  • Established referral network with strong demand for rheumatology services
  • Multidisciplinary specialist practice with opportunities for collaboration across multiple medical specialties
