Job Description:

  • Evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with autoimmune and musculoskeletal diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, gout, spondyloarthropathies and many more) in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Provide consultative and direct care services for hospitalized patients with complex autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal diseases. Evaluate and manage acute rheumatologic flares, systemic autoimmune complications, and complex diagnostic cases.
  • Collaboratively work with hospitalists, subspecialists, nursing, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality, coordinated inpatient care and smooth transitions to outpatient follow-up when appropriate
  • Perform and interpret joint aspirations, injections, and other rheumatologic procedures. Perform bedside procedures in the inpatient setting such as arthrocentesis, joint and soft-tissue injections, and synovial fluid analysis.
  • Perform musculoskeletal ultrasound for diagnostic purpose and procedures
  • Provide tele- health rheumatological consultation for multiple hospitals
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and specialty teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education (CME), and departmental meetings.
  • Provide teaching and mentorship for residents, fellows, and medical students (if applicable).
  • Be up to date with national and international guidelines in pathologies and diseases of the rheumatological diseases.
  • Create, monitor, and treat patients with advanced pharmacotherapy, such as biologic therapy in inflammatory bowel diseases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of U.S. ACGME accredited internal medicine residency training.
  • Completion of U.S. ACGME accredited rheumatology fellowship training.
  • American Board of Internal Medicine board certification in Internal Medicine.
  • American Board of Internal Medicine board certification in Rheumatology.
  • Completion of Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists training.
  • Unrestricted Utah medical license.
  • Utah Controlled Substance license/DEA registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Upon hire, all applicants will be subject to drug testing/screening and background checks.

Salary (Annual): $260,000.00 - $360,000.00

Hours of Work: Usually 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on clinic schedule.
