Job Description

Contract Duration: September 14, 2026 – March 31, 2027, with an optional extension to July 31, 2027

Shared Health is seeking an experienced Testing and Quality Assurance Analyst to support the Digital Shared Services initiative, which focuses on improving healthcare delivery across Manitoba through innovative information and communication technology solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and coordinating quality assurance activities for complex healthcare information systems, ensuring that clinical applications and integrations meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements prior to implementation.

This role requires extensive experience with healthcare information systems, Altera Sunrise clinical applications, HL7 interface testing, provincial pharmacy solutions, and Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS). The successful candidate will collaborate with project managers, business analysts, clinical stakeholders, developers, interface specialists, and operational teams to support digital transformation initiatives across the provincial healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive quality assurance strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test objectives for healthcare technology projects.
  • Execute functional, system, integration, regression, user acceptance (UAT), and end-to-end testing to ensure software quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Validate business requirements, functional specifications, and clinical workflows to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Perform quality assurance testing for healthcare information systems implemented in clinical environments.
  • Test and validate the Altera Sunrise suite of clinical applications, including patient registration, admissions, clinical documentation, orders, and related clinical workflows.
  • Conduct integration testing for healthcare systems utilizing Health Level Seven (HL7) messaging standards, validating message mapping, routing, transformation, and successful processing by receiving systems.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and manage software defects while coordinating issue resolution with development and project teams.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating execution, documenting results, and facilitating issue resolution.
  • Perform regression testing following software enhancements, patches, and production releases.
  • Participate in testing and implementation activities for BDM pharmacy solutions supporting provincial healthcare operations.
  • Support testing and implementation of Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS) within urgent care and emergency care environments.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, interface analysts, clinical users, and project managers to ensure successful system implementation.
  • Prepare quality assurance documentation, test execution reports, defect summaries, traceability matrices, and testing metrics.
  • Participate in production deployments, go-live support, issue triage, validation activities, and post-implementation stabilization.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, organizational policies, privacy requirements, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to testing methodologies, processes, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

Mandatory Certifications

  • PRINCE2® Foundation or Practitioner Certification.
  • Valid Prosci® ADKAR Change Management Certification.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst in complex project environments.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience testing healthcare information systems implemented in clinical environments.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience testing the Altera Sunrise suite of clinical applications, including registration and clinical documentation functionality.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience testing system integrations using HL7 messaging standards, including validation of message mapping and processing by receiving systems.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing BDM Pharmacy Solutions at a provincial healthcare level.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience implementing or testing Emergency Department Information Systems (EDIS) within urgent care or emergency care environments.
