Job Description

At Altair Semiconductor, we develop advanced wireless and IoT solutions that connect millions of devices worldwide.

Our engineers own significant parts of each project, becoming true experts in their fields. You'll work directly with your team from initial concept through final delivery, seeing the real impact of your work.

We maintain a flat organization where ideas flow freely between engineers and leadership. Our experienced team members actively mentor newer colleagues, creating an environment where everyone can learn and grow.

We're proud that our employees choose to build long-term careers with us. Many of our team members have been with the company for years, contributing to a stable, knowledgeable workplace where collaboration comes naturally.

Based in Israel's Sharon region, we offer a convenient shuttle service from Tel Aviv. We understand the importance of work-life balance and want to make it easy for you to have time for everything you want to do.

What you will be doing

As a Test and Product Engineer at Altair Semiconductor, you will design, develop, and maintain production test programs for our next-generation RF and mixed-signal ICs. You will bridge the gap between silicon design and mass production, ensuring our devices meet the highest standards of performance and quality. This role is central to delivering reliable, cutting-edge communication products to a global market.

On a typical day

Your day will involve a blend of deep technical analysis and cross-functional collaboration. You will analyze production test results to drive yield improvements, develop automated RF test sequences, and troubleshoot complex anomalies alongside RFIC design and manufacturing teams. You will also participate in defining the next generation of test hardware and methodologies, ensuring our production flows remain efficient and robust.

Responsibilities

  • Test Program Development: Develop, validate, and maintain automated production test programs for advanced RF and mixed-signal ICs across various ATE platforms.
  • RF Analysis & Characterization: Perform deep-dive RF system analysis and characterization in both lab and production environments to optimize performance.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze large volumes of test data to identify trends, perform failure analysis, and provide actionable insights to design teams.
  • Hardware Design: Define and design test hardware for wafer probing and final test stages, including load boards and probe cards.
  • Lifecycle Support: Drive new product introduction (NPI) from initial prototype and lab characterization through to high-volume mass production.
  • Continuous Improvement: Optimize test flows to meet stringent quality, cost, and yield targets while automating manual processes.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with RFIC designers to optimize performance and support debugging and yield improvement.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Proven experience in semiconductor testing, product engineering, or RF validation.
  • RF Expertise: Vast experience in RF systems analysis and a strong understanding of RF principles.
  • Automation: A solid background in RF test automation development on any ATE platform.
  • Programming: Strong programming background and software development skills (specific languages are irrelevant; the ability to build robust automation is key).

Preferred Qualifications & Advantages

  • ATE Specialist: Direct experience in semiconductor engineering development on the Advantest 93K platform.
  • Hardware Design: Preferable experience in Board Design (PCB) for high-frequency RF applications.
  • Lab Proficiency: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators) and data analysis tools.
