What You Will Be Doing
Lockheed Martin seeks a Senior Staff Electronic Warfare (EW) RF Payload Design Engineer and Technical Lead to support advanced EW decoy system development. The role will drive RF architecture, design, integration, test, and verification for EW payloads that must operate in hostile, spectrum congested environments while supporting tactical Link 16, M code GPS, and navy blue force requirements.
This is a significant effort that will develop, integrate and fly multiple EW RF payloads simultaneously for various customers. The candidate shall operate as a player/coach, being able to coordinate technical design activities amongst suppliers while also performing RF performance analysis and architecture design.

Architects and designs Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes and tests RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develops RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Performs link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develops and allocates RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and tracks RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Performs RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.
• BS in STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS in STEM and 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Electronic Warfare (EW) RF design and development experience
• RF Supplier technical oversight and management experience which may include:
• Telemetry or similar data link budget analysis
• Antenna design requirements & specifications
• EMI/EMC knowledge and mitigation techniques
• Tactical Radio integration experience
• Communication, radar, or similar waveform design experience
• Digital signal processing experience
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance, therefore you must be a US Citizen.
• Active Secret Clearance
• Cross-Business Area engagement experience
• M code (military GPS) or similar integration/design experience
• Link-16 or similar tactical radio integration/design experience
• Familiarity with E³ (design, test, verification) processes
• Antenna design, measurement, and evaluation capabilities
• Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV), missile, or similar design, or integration, or flight test experience
• EW or radar system design, or integration, or flight test experience
• Flight test and/or HWIL (hardware in the loop) experience
• Telemetry or similar data link budget analysis
• Antenna design requirements & specifications
• EMI/EMC knowledge and mitigation techniques
• Tactical radio integration experience
• US Navy customer or product experience
• Strong communication with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment and meet aggressive schedules
• Self starter; effective “player/coach” with minimal supervision
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00
