We are looking for:

1 hire for 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm

1 hire for 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday, 2pm - Midnight

Objective

The Rewind Operator’s primary function is to inspect rolls of printed products to ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met.

Essential Functions

  • Set up scanning equipment pursuant to job specifications.
  • Lift label rolls onto rewind machinery.
  • Operate rewind machinery by depressing color-coded buttons to start and stop rewind process.
  • Inspect labels for visual imperfections based on job specifications.
  • Remove defective labels and manually replace with proper horizontal and vertical positioning.
  • Replace long sequence of defective labels by splicing and re-taping pursuant to job specifications.
  • Fan folding labels to put in bundle form.
  • Review computer scanning of labels for non-visually detected imperfections. Make label adjustments and/or replacements accordingly.
  • Inspect back-numbered labels for proper sequence.
  • Air blasting labels for presence or lack of glue.
  • Cut appropriate cores at the length needed for the job
  • Maintain traceability by completely paperwork adequately.
  • Rewind labels onto rolls after inspection is complete.
  • Training of other co-workers as needed for production demands.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Supervisor

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.

Physical Demands

Ability to bend, reach, crawl, twist and lift at least 50 pounds unassisted is required. The ability to remain in a standing or sitting position for long periods of time is required. The ability to see, hear, count, read and follow verbal directives in English is required. The ability to differentiate colors, horizontal and vertical positions is required. The ability to perform repetitive upper body motions is required.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible with hours and work overtime when needed.

Preferred Education and Experience

High School Diploma. Previous Rewind experience in a manufacturing environment.
