EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Reward Advisor to join our HR Reward team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high‑quality reward and benefits services, providing clear, practical advice that supports confident decision‑making across the business.

You’ll help ensure our reward data is accurate and well‑governed, our processes run smoothly, and our reporting delivers meaningful insight for Reward Specialists and senior stakeholders. Working closely with colleagues across HR, you’ll also support managers and employees with reward and benefits queries, building trusted and collaborative relationships along the way.

What you’ll be doing

Reward activity & projects

You’ll support the delivery of core reward activities, ensuring everything is well‑documented, evidence‑based and aligned to agreed governance and processes. This includes:

  • Independently conducting job evaluations using agreed methodologies (e.g. Hay).
  • Undertaking salary benchmarking using external market data.
  • Supporting out‑of‑cycle pay activity, including reviewing pay proposals.
  • Completing salary survey submissions accurately and on time.
  • Actively managing relationships with benefit providers and responding to employee and provider queries.

You’ll also support the annual reward cycle and wider business projects, leading defined operational workstreams where appropriate, including:

  • Pay and bonus reviews
  • Organisational change activity
  • Reward framework design
  • Annual benefits enrolment

Data, reporting & insights

  • Produce accurate, high‑quality reward and benefits MI, reports and insights to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
  • Own reward data integrity, ensuring consistency, accuracy and robust governance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data issues, risks or inconsistencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting efficiency and insight capability across the Reward team.

Query management & advisory

  • Lead day‑to‑day reward and benefits query management.
  • Act as the first escalation point for more complex reward issues.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to HR Hub and HR colleagues.
  • Analyse query trends to inform clearer guidance and improved processes.

Engagement & communications

  • Lead reward and benefits communications to promote understanding, trust and uptake.
  • Work closely with Occupational Health and Pensions to deliver joined‑up messaging.
  • Use engagement feedback to continually improve communication quality and employee experience.

HOW WE WORK

You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Essential experience

  • Experience in an HR, reward, payroll, benefits or similar operational environment, or a role involving strong data handling and stakeholder support.
  • Strong Excel skills, with experience working across multiple datasets, including validation, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience providing advice or guidance to employees, managers or internal stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting projects or initiatives with clear timelines and deliverables.

Desirable experience

  • Exposure to reward processes such as:
    • Job evaluation (e.g. Hay or similar methodologies)
    • Salary benchmarking and market data
    • Pay review, bonus or out‑of‑cycle pay activity
  • Experience working with reward, benefits or payroll data and associated governance.
  • Experience liaising with reward survey providers or market data sources.
  • Experience using Power BI for reporting.

Skills & behaviours

  • A clear and confident communicator, able to explain complex information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Highly organised, detail‑focused and analytical.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting others.
  • Proactive, improvement‑focused and resilient during peak reward cycles.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) or above, or qualified by experience.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification.
